The Butt Stops Here: Free Smoking Cessation Program
Statistics show that patients are more likely to engage in tobacco cessation efforts when encouraged to do so by their healthcare provider and twice as likely to quit with 
group support.
Hudson Headwaters is offering another session of “The Butt Stops Here” smoking cessation program. The program is a free, seven week tobacco cessation program for Hudson Headwaters’ patients. Patients meet weekly for an hour in a support-style group. Participants are given a Quitters workbook to use as a guide. We utilize a hand-held carbon monoxide monitor with each participant at every meeting. This allows them to see both the effects of tobacco use and their success when the numbers decline as they decrease their use. This program is a great opportunity for the participants to learn coping skills, gain some knowledge, and have emotional support from the group.
The next program will be held on Thursdays, September 12 – October 24 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at West Mountain Health Services bldg. 1, entrance 1A, located at 161 Carey Rd, Queensbury.
