Affiliations and Partnerships

As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Hudson Headwaters Health Network is an independent organization with deep and abiding connections with health care and other organizations in our region.

Hudson Headwaters has partnered with University of Vermont/Larner School of Medicine to develop a Longitudinally Integrated Clerkship (LIC) for training third year medical students in a community setting. These students live in our community for twelve months and complete their core third year clinical clerkship. This approach can more effectively teach patient-centered care, and increase the number of medical students choosing to practice in a rural setting.

For nearly 30 years, Hudson Headwaters Health Network has served as a training site for third year medical students from Albany Medical College. These students spend a month with us completing a Rural Internal Medicine clerkship. One of the most sought after rotations, this program provides students with intensive exposure to high quality primary care through personal mentoring in the outpatient setting and didactic lectures in the classroom.
