To ensure input from local people, Hudson Headwaters maintains advisory committees in those communities that provide financial support for its health centers. These committees meet regularly to hear about Hudson Headwaters’ plans and finances. They in turn provide input from community members on issues such as hours of operations and staffing levels.
Hudson Headwaters has also formed patient advisory committees that focus on quality of care, access to services and patient satisfaction. “To be a patient-centered practice, you have to get the patient’s point of view,” says Jen Leszyk, Hudson Headwaters’ performance improvement director.
