New! Walk-In Hours at Saranac Lake Family Health
Available to Hudson Headwaters patients who receive care at any location
Hudson Headwaters Health Network is expanding access to timely primary care services in the Tri-Lakes region with new walk-in hours at Saranac Lake Family Health, located within Adirondack Medical Center at 2249 State Route 86. Walk-in hours are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for Hudson Headwaters patients who receive care at any location. No appointment is necessary.
The expanded access offers patients a convenient option for same-day care for non-emergency health concerns, helping them receive timely treatment while avoiding delays. Walk-in hours are designed to treat minor illnesses and injuries, including colds, sore throats, ear pain, fever without rash, urinary tract infection symptoms, diarrhea and minor strains and sprains.
Walk-in hours will be staffed by the Saranac Lake Family Health provider team. Patients utilizing the walk-in hours remain within the Hudson Headwaters primary care network, allowing for seamless communication, follow-up and continuity of care across locations and providers.
“These new walk-in hours in Saranac Lake help ensure patients can be seen quickly for minor concerns while remaining connected to their Hudson Headwaters providers and care teams at Saranac Lake Family Health, Family Health at Lake Placid, Tupper Lake Family Health and beyond,” explained Patricia Monroe, M.D., medical leader at Saranac Lake Family Health.
Walk-in services enhance the local health ecosystem by providing an efficient way for Hudson Headwaters patients to address minor medical needs. Hudson Headwaters and its hospital partners developed a “Right Care at the Right Time” guide to help explain the best health care option and setting, such as primary care walk-in hours, based on the concern. In addition to walk-in hours, Saranac Lake Family Health offers extended access for appointments on Tuesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The health center is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
“We are honored to serve the Tri-Lakes region alongside Adirondack Health and our other health care partners,” said Tucker Slingerland, M.D. “The new morning walk-in hours at Saranac Lake Family Health complement our shared vision to help ensure that all community members have the right care at the right time.”
