Announces Minimum Wage Increase and Appointment of New Human Resources Executive
Hudson Headwaters recently announced a significant mid-year minimum wage increase. Any employee making less than $15.00 per hour will be given a raise to $15.00, representing a new Network-wide minimum wage.
“Our Network of 17 health centers spanning 5,000 square miles of the Adirondack North Country and Glens Falls region, represents an exceptional foundation that we can build upon and offers an opportunity for both clinical and workplace innovation – factors that will keep Hudson Headwaters at the forefront of quality health care. This pay increase not only represents our collective hard work, but also hopefully makes a difference for our employees and their families,” said Dr. Tucker Slingerland, CEO.
Hudson Headwaters is one of the largest employers in the Adirondack region, with almost 800 staff members.
“We are fortunate to have not only quality providers but an exceptional group of professionals whose work we are grateful for,” said Dr. Slingerland. “And while patients are always our top priority, our team of providers and professionals are essential to our future success.”
New York State is not set to increase the minimum wage to $15.00 per hour until after 2020.
As a sign of Hudson Headwaters’ continued commitment to being an employer of choice in the region, the Network is pleased to welcome Susan Corney as Vice President of Human Resources.
“Hudson Headwaters has a long-standing tradition of providing access to the best care to all residents in the communities we serve. To ensure we fulfill our patient-centric mission, we must continue to attract, retain, engage and continually develop a high-performing, highly satisfied work force that functions as a team,” said Dominick Bizzarro, President, and Chief Administrative Officer.
Susan brings to the organization over two decades of expertise from serving in senior HR leadership roles in health care and insurance companies. She has a wealth of diverse experience in talent management, leadership development, HR information systems, compliance, benefits management, and health insurance, including a license as a NYS Life, Accident and Health Insurance agent.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to join such a progressive and innovative organization and look forward to getting started,” said Ms. Corney. “Throughout my career, I’ve helped organizations foster employee-focused environments. Highly satisfied employees are the key to ensuring highly satisfied patients.”
