West Mountain Primary Care Opens January 9

Hudson Headwaters Health Network will open its 14th health center, West Mountain Primary Care, on Monday, January 9th. The new health center is located a half mile west of Northway Exit 18, on Corinth Road in Queensbury, with its entrance on Carey Road. It features 20 exam rooms, including two for behavioral health counselling, and a Kinney Drug Store with drive-through capability.
“We expect this new center to fill the primary care needs of the region for the foreseeable future,” said John Rugge, M.D. and CEO. Rugge noted that Hudson Headwaters’ three health centers in the Glens Falls area are way over-booked (in Moreau, Queensbury and on Broad Street in Glens Falls). “New patients have had to wait months to get their first appointment,” he said. “Now we will be able to see everyone much more quickly and lighten the load at our ‘metro’ area health centers.”

The Director will engage multidisciplinary teams, balancing priorities of multiple stake holders to facilitate coordination of data driven priority initiatives determined in the AHI Strategic Plan. The ideal candidate will identify improvement opportunities and facilitate a regional approach for process standardization to promote improved outcomes for beneficiaries, reduce per capita costs of health care, and improve organizational efficiencies. WELCOME DR. BERNIE VILLAJUAN, to Hudson Headwaters Health Network! As many of you know, Dr. Villajuan has been in the practice of internal medicine in Glens Falls for a number of years. His excellent clinical and personal reputation is a welcome fit for the Network and we are proud to have him affiliated with us.
Dr. Villajuan’s practice will initially be at the Fort Edward/Kingsbury Health Center (FEKHC). When our West Mountain Primary Care Center (WMPC) opens in January 2012, Dr. Villajuan will then transition his practice to that new health center.
